Gantry crane operator — Appomattox County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a gantry crane operator in Appomattox County, Virginia. The job is in a steel fabrication workshop. Day to day you will read and interpret the load chart before every lift; keep a safe distance from overhead power lines; park up the crane, stow the jib and isolate at end of shift; fill in the daily logbook and raise defect reports; set up the outriggers and level the crane on firm ground; rig and sling loads using slings, shackles and spreader beams. Requirements: • Proven experience on mobile, tower or overhead cranes • Current medical and eyesight certificate • Valid crane operator licence or certificate (CPCS, NPORS or local equivalent) At least 4 year(s) in a similar role. Full-time with occasional weekends. Performance bonus on top of base pay. $3,100 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
