Vacancy available: we are hiring a furnace operator in Knox County, Ohio. The job is in a non-ferrous casting shop. Day to day you will skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand. Ideal candidate: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Six days a week, one day off.
