Die-casting operator — Monroe County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a die-casting operator in Monroe County, Iowa. You will be based at a brass and bronze foundry. The role involves shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards $2,900 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
