Now hiring: we are hiring a core maker in Henry County, Illinois. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry The role involves maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale. Rotating shifts. Pay around $11,250 per project, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
