Ideal candidate: • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire Day to day you will lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; fit mechanical couplers where shown on the drawings; assemble column and beam cages on the bench; tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers; lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman; read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules.
