Lifting rigger — Champaign County

Now hiring: we are hiring a lifting rigger in Champaign County, Illinois. You will work at a power plant. The role involves rig and lift structural steel, precast panels and machinery into position; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use; read lift plans and method statements before starting; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift; check sling angles to stay within the working load limit. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles Part-time with flexible hours.
