Butcher — Lowndes County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a butcher in Lowndes County, Alabama. The role involves: • Stuff and link fresh sausages with casings • Take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking • Sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone • Mince meat and prepare keema on the grinder • Break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts • Monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain What we are looking for: • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate • Able to identify primal cuts of beef, mutton and poultry • Able to use a band saw, grinder and sausage filler Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
