Furnace operator — Nottinghamshire

Now hiring: we are hiring a furnace operator in Nottinghamshire, England. You will be based at an aluminium die-casting plant. On the job you will handle: • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects What we are looking for: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Rotating shifts. A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew. Pay around £120 per day, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
