Vacancy available: sheet metal welder (Illinois)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a sheet metal welder in DuPage County, Illinois. You will work on a structural steel site. Day-to-day duties: • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety $3,700 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
