Immediate opening: overlocker operator (England)

Immediate opening: we are hiring an overlocker operator in Knowsley, England. You will be based in a sampling and tailoring workshop. On a typical shift you will thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet. What we are looking for: • ITI / tailoring certificate is a plus • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
