Now hiring: we are hiring a core maker in Delaware County, New York. The job is at a brass and bronze foundry. The role involves mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle. Requirements: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards Pay around $4,400 per month, based on your experience. Rotating shifts.
