Pipe TIG welder — Surry County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a pipe TIG welder in Surry County, North Carolina. The job is in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. On the job you will handle: • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool Requirements: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Able to pass a weld test on the spot $29 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
