Now hiring: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Iron County, Michigan. Requirements: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings On the job you will handle: • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
