Great opportunity: we are hiring a precision welder in Cass County, Texas. Your main tasks: • Back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring) • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal You should have: • Sound knowledge of shielding gases and tungsten selection • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day Overtime paid at a premium rate.
