Sand plant operator — Buchanan County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Buchanan County, Iowa. On a typical shift you will make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. Ideal candidate: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal 3+ years on the tools preferred. $3,500 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
