You will audit housekeeping and barricading around excavations and open edges; check PPE such as helmets, goggles, gloves and ear plugs and issue replacements; inspect scaffolding, full-body harnesses and lifelines for work at height; record accident statistics and keep the safety logbook up to date; run fire drills and check extinguishers, hydrants and alarm points; take gas readings with a multi-gas detector before confined-space entry.
