Join our team: we are hiring a foundry operative in Elk County, Pennsylvania. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. The role involves make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand. Ideal candidate: • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Six days a week, one day off.
