Steel fixing chargehand wanted in Midlothian

Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in Midlothian, Scotland. You will be based on a commercial tower construction site. What we are looking for: • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing Day to day you will place main bars and distribution bars to the marked spacing; fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder; assemble column and beam cages on the bench. 4+ years on the tools preferred.
