Urgent requirement: overlocker operator (California)

Now hiring: we are hiring an overlocker operator in Siskiyou County, California. You will be based on an export house sewing floor. What we are looking for: • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens Your main tasks: • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line • Attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet • Topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
