We are recruiting: we are hiring a precision welder in Page County, Iowa. You will be based in a pipe-spool fabrication yard. On the job you will handle: • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Set the amperage on the machine and modulate the current with the foot pedal • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions Ideal candidate: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Proven experience with TIG/GTAW on stainless and aluminium • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height At least 4 year(s) in a similar role.
