Great opportunity: shakeout operator (Kentucky)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Boone County, Kentucky. You will work in the fettling and dressing shop. Your main tasks: • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities What we are looking for: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Part-time with flexible hours. Performance bonus on top of base pay. $4,700 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Contact us to fix an interview.
