Core maker — Marion County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a core maker in Marion County, Iowa. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. On the job you will handle: • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects Ideal candidate: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. Part-time with flexible hours. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Pay around $17 per hour, based on your experience. Walk-in interviews this week.
