Shakeout operator — Logan County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Logan County, Oklahoma. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. Day to day you will assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. You should have: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough.
