Core maker — Pennington County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a core maker in Pennington County, South Dakota. You will be based at a brass and bronze foundry. Requirements: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Your main tasks: • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. Part-time with flexible hours. Performance bonus on top of base pay. $4,500 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
