Now hiring: we are hiring a metal caster in Broomfield County, Colorado. The job is at an aluminium die-casting plant. Requirements: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts Day-to-day duties: • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings Full-time, day shift.
