Ideal candidate: • Able to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T • Knows feeds, speeds and tooling for steel, aluminium and cast iron The role involves: • Monitor tool wear and change blunt inserts and cutters • Hold close tolerances down to ±0.02 mm • Set spindle speeds and feed rates to suit the material and cutter • Select and fit end mills, face mills and slot drills into collets and arbors Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
