Machine operator (earthworks) — Douglas County

Now hiring: we are hiring a machine operator (earthworks) in Douglas County, South Dakota. You will be based on a housing development site. You should have: • Proven experience on 360 tracked excavators (8t–30t) • Physically fit for long hours in the cab on outdoor sites • Own PPE — safety boots, hi-vis and hard hat Your main tasks: • Track the machine on and off low-loaders for transport • Lift and place pipes, manholes and precast sections with the bucket and chains • Work safely around buried services with a banksman or spotter • Dig foundation trenches and footings to the marked depths and levels • Carry out daily greasing and check hydraulic oil, coolant and fuel levels • Backfill trenches and compact the fill in layers Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
