Fettler — Vanderburgh County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a fettler in Vanderburgh County, Indiana. You should have: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Basic grinding and fettling skills Day to day you will shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch.
