Requirements: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding On a typical shift you will inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring. 1+ years on the tools preferred.
