On a typical shift you will feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; keep the arc length and travel speed consistent; tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run. You should have: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols 3+ years on the tools preferred.
