Now hiring: we are hiring a PVC window installer in Hancock County, Illinois. You will be based at a glazing and fabrication factory. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of common hardware systems such as espagnolette and friction hinges • Accurate measuring and squaring to within a couple of millimetres • Able to work to deadlines in a busy workshop The role involves: • Glaze the double-glazed units, set the packers and bed the glass square • Fuse-weld frame and sash corners on the welding machine and check the weld seam • Insert galvanised steel reinforcement into the profile chambers and screw-fix it • Check the frame for square by measuring the diagonals • Fit EPDM gaskets and brush-pile weather seals along the rails • Crimp glazing beads to length and snap them into the frame 2+ years on the tools preferred.
