You will torch on bitumen membrane across flat roofs; insulate and ventilate the roof void; set out battens to the correct gauge and spacing; replace cracked or slipped tiles and slates; carry out leak inspections and patch repairs; lay underlayment and tar paper before tiling. Ideal candidate: • Able to read roof pitch and set the falls • A driving licence is an advantage for site travel • Working-at-height or scaffold safety certificate Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
