Immediate opening: we are hiring a hand presser in Terry County, Texas. You will work in a garment export house. Requirements: • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine Day-to-day duties: • Clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents • Press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching • Use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics • Set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics • Shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board • Remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron 2+ years on the tools preferred. $4,900 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
