Gantry crane operator — Portsmouth

Great opportunity: we are hiring a gantry crane operator in Portsmouth, England. You will be based at a precast concrete yard. The role involves: • Carry out pre-start checks on the crane, wire ropes and hook block • Rig and sling loads using slings, shackles and spreader beams • Read and interpret the load chart before every lift • Help set out the lift plan and barrier off the exclusion zone • Keep every lift within the safe working load (SWL) • Park up the crane, stow the jib and isolate at end of shift You should have: • Valid crane operator licence or certificate (CPCS, NPORS or local equivalent) • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts • Strong attention to safety and load limits We offer £12 per hour plus benefits.
