Foundry operative — McLean County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a foundry operative in McLean County, Illinois. What we are looking for: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Day to day you will tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale.
