On a typical shift you will carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring. You should have: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough. We offer $3,600 per month plus benefits.
