Die-casting operator — Kusilvak Census Area

Vacancy available: we are hiring a die-casting operator in Kusilvak Census Area, Alaska. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Day to day you will melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity. You should have: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
