Great opportunity: we are hiring a core maker in Hamilton County, Nebraska. You will be based at a brass and bronze foundry. What we are looking for: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Day-to-day duties: • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges Part-time with flexible hours.
