Join our team: we are hiring a stitching operator in Taura, Jigawa State. The job is in a textile and apparel unit. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance Day-to-day duties: • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
