Your main tasks: • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise Requirements: • Able to pass a weld test on the spot • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety Rotating shifts.
