Die-casting operator — Braxton County

We are recruiting: we are hiring a die-casting operator in Braxton County, West Virginia. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Requirements: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Day-to-day duties: • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough. $160 per day, negotiable for the right hands.
