Immediate opening: sewing machine operator (England)

Great opportunity: we are hiring a sewing machine operator in Borough of Rochdale, England. You will be based at a knitwear stitching unit. Ideal candidate: • Quality-conscious with an eye for puckers, skipped stitches and uneven seams • 2+ years on industrial sewing machines in a garment factory • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens The role involves thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension; topstitch and edge-stitch with the correct margin for a clean finish; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation; press open seams or use a folder/binder attachment for bound edges; operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet. Part-time with flexible hours. Meals and transport allowance provided. Walk-in interviews this week.
