Machine operator (earthworks) — Montgomery County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a machine operator (earthworks) in Montgomery County, New York. Ideal candidate: • Able to read drawings, setting-out pegs and level pegs • Good awareness of underground services and exclusion zones The role involves: • Strip and stockpile topsoil ready for reuse • Carry out daily greasing and check hydraulic oil, coolant and fuel levels • Backfill trenches and compact the fill in layers • Dig foundation trenches and footings to the marked depths and levels • Clear sites, demolish structures and load out muck and rubble • Load spoil into tippers and dumpers cleanly without spillage Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough. $4,900 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
