Day-to-day duties: • Give each garment a final press before packing • Spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts • Set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics • Fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press Requirements: • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
