You should have: • Current medical and eyesight certificate • Sound knowledge of rigging and slinging • Physically fit to climb ladders and work long shifts Your main tasks: • Rig and sling loads using slings, shackles and spreader beams • Help set out the lift plan and barrier off the exclusion zone • Read and interpret the load chart before every lift • Fill in the daily logbook and raise defect reports • Park up the crane, stow the jib and isolate at end of shift • Watch the load moment indicator (LMI) and stay within rated capacity Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
