Furnace operator • Lee County, Kentucky

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a furnace operator in Lee County, Kentucky. You will work at a busy iron foundry. Requirements: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection The role involves skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale. We offer $3,500 per month plus benefits. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
