Immediate opening: we are hiring a crane rigger in Shelby County, Alabama. You will work on an offshore oil and gas platform. On the job you will handle: • Tag and quarantine any damaged or out-of-date rigging gear • Take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings • Direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio • Establish exclusion zones and keep workers clear of the lift area • Fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift Requirements: • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness Full-time with occasional weekends.
