Immediate opening: sheet metal press operator (Kansas)

Now hiring: we are hiring a sheet metal press operator in Sheridan County, Kansas. The job is in a metal fabrication workshop. The role involves: • Watch for cracks, burrs, wrinkles and double-hits on parts • Clear scrap and offcuts from the die area • Record output and downtime on the production sheet • Fit and check guards, light curtains and safety interlocks before starting • Adjust press stroke, shut height and tonnage settings • Carry out first-off inspection and report rejects to the supervisor Requirements: • ITI in fitter, machinist or sheet metal trade preferred • Able to read engineering drawings and job cards • Can use vernier calipers, micrometers and go/no-go gauges Overtime paid at a premium rate.
