Argon welding operator — Buckinghamshire

Join our team: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Buckinghamshire, England. Requirements: • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection Your main tasks: • Tack weld parts to hold the fit-up before the final run • Read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel At least 3 year(s) in a similar role. Six days a week, one day off. Walk-in interviews this week.
