Excavator operator — Barnsley

We are recruiting: we are hiring an excavator operator in Barnsley, England. You will work on a housing development site. What we are looking for: • Confident working to fine grade and tight tolerances • Own PPE — safety boots, hi-vis and hard hat • Able to read drawings, setting-out pegs and level pegs The role involves: • Load spoil into tippers and dumpers cleanly without spillage • Backfill trenches and compact the fill in layers • Work to laser, GPS or 2D/3D machine-control guidance • Inspect tracks, bucket teeth and pins for wear before start-up • Excavate trenches for water, sewer and cable runs • Grade, level and batter slopes to the required gradient Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. Rotating shifts. Pay around £14 per hour, based on your experience. Apply today to start as soon as possible.
